The survival of Anomalie Art Club is being challenged by the impacts of corona virus. Since March 13th all events have been cancelled by authorities in order to prevent the virus from spreading. We support this decision as everyone´s priority needs to be protecting the old and weak. This decision has existential consequences for the Berlin club scene and our club- and art space. One month not running events puts us out of business and gets us into debts we will not be able to pay off. We kindly ask for your support. Conceived and created by the Anomalie team, the venue offers an immense infrastructure for any kind of music and art to workshops and movement. This futuristic temple is dedicated to the idea of holistically engaging the cultural spectrum. Every aspect of life is elevated to art and contributes to a continuous Gesamtkunstwerk. Anomalie serves as a stage for the intersection of expressive disciplines. From originally being a car workshop, the location has been converted from an empty hall into an outstanding event venue. Architect Lena Wimmer designed its new shapes in constant collaboration with the Anomalie team, in order to create the ambience of a futuristic industrial temple. On an area of 2,000 sqm, Anomalie hosts a range of individual spaces, where artistic research of all kinds merges into a symbiotic organism.
On Thursday, Anomalie will contribute a stream for the United We Stream project that collects donations for the Berlin club scene as a whole. We are delighted to welcome Kevin de Vries, Mathew Jonson, Johanna Knutsson, Cromby and Thabo to an empty club. You will be able to watch the stream here:

#UnitedWeStream is an initiative by the Berlin Clubcommission and the campaign platform Reclaim Club Culture. We are grateful to have won the renowned TV channel arte concert, radio station radioeins and the Berlin label SUOL as cooperating partners for providing and maintaining the streaming technology. betterplace.org provides its platform for fundraising. Visitors to the site will be asked for a voluntarily donation and become member of the “virtual club”. The income from the streams goes to a fundraising fund for social hardship cases which can be used to support clubs and artists suffering from the coronavirus quarantine. For the distribution of these funds, the Clubcommission Berlin e.V. developed a catalog of criteria and has assigned an independent jury.
In addition, 8 percent of the proceeds go to the “Foundation for Civil Sea Rescue” whose clear and transparent eligibility criteria enable a fast allocation of funds to NGOs in Greece and civil sea rescue in the Mediterranean. In doing so, we show an additional sign of solidarity: It is not just about us – many people are in need of solidarity!
