What is the sound system in Jamaica is the Pico in Colombia! Brightly painted box towers characterize the image of the Colombian party landscape. Each Pico Picó can be identified in addition to his music selection strong and the hand-painted box towers. Soundsystem - Colombian Style!

With "El Volcán - El Orgullo de Berlin" we present you the first and only picó party of the city. With the best Dj's of the scene & live percussion here is a very special night full of tropical grooves! There is also a live screening short film "Sabroso by Luis Antonio Delgado, live percussion and Caribbean snacks!

Una noche muy especial llena de grooves tropicales con los mejores Djs de la escena y percusión en vivo. También hay una proyección del cortometraje "Sabroso" de Luis Antonio Delgado y fritos caribeños.

Dazu gibt es ein Live Screening of Sabroso a shortfilm of the contemporary Caribbean music scene.

The short film follows producer Mauricio Alvarez (aka Cero39) as he takes a trip to the Colombian coastal cities of Barranquilla and Cartagena, looking at the history of soundsystems and electronic music in those important cultural hotspots. The film features interviews with Fabian Altahona (Africolombia), Martin Leal, Shane Butron (owner of Discolombia), Dairo Barriosnuevo and many other important figures from Colombia’s champeta, vinyl and soundsystem cultures. SABROSO! A Road Trip to Colombia’s Caribbean Coast was directed by Luis Antonio Delgado. aka La Kobra Tropical who was also playing last time at El Volcan

A DJ, collector, blogger and member of the berlin based Tropical Timepwarp collective, Bela Patrutzi dives deeper and deeper into the ocean of west african music. The main pool in his voyage is highlife from Nigeria and Ghana from the 1970´s and 80´s. A very danceable, soulful and diverse music style rooted in Ghana. Joining the waters are soukous, disco, funk and contemporary styles from the Ivory Coast, Benin, Mali and beyond.

* Dj Nomad (Africaine 808/ Vulkandance Records/ Kréyol)
Nomad is one of the most well respected Tropical DJ's and Record Collectors in the world. Besides being the founder of Vulkandance and being one half of the Music Project AFRICAINE 808, he is co-founder of Kréyol. He's one of the biggest collectors of African and Tropical Dance music in Europe, and a worldwide reknown expert on West African as well as Southafrican Soul, Funk and Disco.

Edna Martinez grew up in Cartagena de Indias, in the colombian caribbean which influence her musical selection: African organic rhythms, Tropical sounds, Champeta, Cumbia, Latin and even Arabic folklore.
